DIABDERMIX® Serum for Yellowish Nails 15 g
Antioxidant nail serum 15g
In some people with diabetes, the nails take on a yellowish hue. Often this colouring has to do with the breakdown of sugar and its effect on the collagen in nails.
Ageing can also cause yellow colouration of nails. Among nail plate colour changes in elderly people, the most commonly observed alteration is a yellow to grey discolouration with dull, pale, or opaque appearance. [18]
In their work from 2020, Wilkinson and Hardman highlight a functional link between diabetes and ageing. [19]
Active ingredients
- Silver Vine Extract
- Ume Extract
- Noni Fruit Juice
- Sodium Lauryl Sulphate
Silver vine extract, ume extract and noni fruit juice are antioxidants. Besides, they express additional activities against mechanisms involved in the yellowish colouration of nails such as protein carbonylation and glycation reactions.
Noni fruit juice regulates keratinisation in the nails, consequently strengthening them.
Sodium lauryl sulphate, being an ionic surfactant, enhances the penetration of active ingredients into the nail.
